Job Description

Position Summary

Reporting to the Education Manager, the Education Coordinator will help the Education Department, in conjunction with the Education Manager, at National Alliance for Eating Disorders. This position will assist in the development, scheduling, and facilitating of educational training/opportunities on eating disorders. They will also lead in the planning of National EDucational Training Days and state-specific training held across the country. This position requires exceptional organizational skills in order to meet mandatory deadlines for all educational efforts at The Alliance. The position will assist with all education duties and responsibilities of the Education and Resources Department. Knowledge of computer systems, the internet, and software applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc are essential to this position. This position is a 9 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday, on-site role at The Alliance headquarters. Some travel may be required for events/presentations in other locations, with the flexibility to work evenings and weekends when necessary.

 

Duties and responsibilities

  • Schedule and execute community, professional, and continuing education workshops, training, and presentations on behalf of The Alliance
  • Plan, organize, and execute National EDucational Training Days and state-specific training offered by The Alliance
  • Assist in developing, reviewing, updating, and executing educational presentations offered by The Alliance on a routine basis
  • Coordinate and maintain calendars for training program dates and deadlines for deliverables internally and externally
  • Manage provider status with Florida professional licensing boards through CEBroker and maintain reporting of data for CE programs
  • Assist in managing accredited provider status and serve as the Program Administrator for the following national, professional entities: American Psychological Association (APA), Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR), National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC), National Association of Social Workers (NASW), and New York State Social Workers (NYSW)
  • Schedule and attend health fairs, community events, and local conferences to exhibit on behalf of The Alliance
  • Assist in the creation of checklists, evaluations, presentations, reference documents, and other training materials
  • Report on program adoption, feedback, and efficiency to deliver to other departments and stakeholders
  • Represent The Alliance at local and national events, networks, and meetings that relate to Eating Disorders and mental health
  • Participate in some special events or projects, as requested or needed, outside of typical working hours
  • Assist with planning and execution of educational and fundraising efforts on behalf of The Alliance
  • Administrative functions as they relate to the performance of required duties
  • Other tasks as assigned to support growth and program development

Qualifications

Required

  • Must have excellent organizational and communication skills.

  • Bachelors in the psychology-related, education, or public health field

  • Minimum of one year of demonstrated experience in program coordination

  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills

  • Passion for mental health, advocacy, and eating disorders awareness 

  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and general database management

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Valid driver’s license and ability and willingness to travel (locally and nationally) 

Preferred

  • Bilingual in Spanish and English strongly preferred.

  • License (PsyD, Ph.D., LMHC, LMFT, LCSW, LPC, RD/LDN).

  • Prior experience in the eating disorder field

  • A background in Continuing Education management
