Job Description

About the role

As a Financial Accountant, you will support the Financial Controller in ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with Greek and Cypriot statutory requirements and internal policies. You will be responsible for day-to-day accounting operations, preparation of financial statements, and continuous improvement of accounting processes.

What you'll be doing

  • Independently processing accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll postings, and travel expenses.
  • Handling payment transactions, SEPA direct debits, and daily bank account management.
  • Performing account reconciliations, including general ledger, asset accounting, expense accounts, and balance sheet accounts.
  • Supporting the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with UK GAAP and Greek GAAP, where applicable.
  • Supporting internal and external audits and providing documentation and explanations as required.
  • Preparing and submitting VAT returns in cooperation with external tax advisors.
  • Monitoring, analysing, and correcting accounting errors and contributing to the continuous improvement and optimisation of financial processes.
  • Supporting the Financial Controller with administrative and coordinating activities.
  • Performing accounting activities using ERP NetSuite (Oracle), ensuring data accuracy and system compliance.
  • Managing invoicing and purchasing of software licences, including coordination with vendors and internal stakeholders.
  • Supporting the accounting insourcing to NetSuite.

Qualifications

What we're looking for

  • Strong knowledge of Greek accounting and VAT regulations.
  • Experience with ERP systems, preferably NetSuite (Oracle).
  • Fluency in Greek and English (written and spoken).
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
