Job Description
About the role
We’re looking for a Software Engineer to join our Internal Engineering team. The group is responsible for building and maintaining the systems that keep TAG running efficiently and securely.
You’ll play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining our internal services, ensuring reliability, scalability, and a seamless user experience across the business.
As part of a collaborative, forward-thinking team, you’ll contribute to technical discussions, participate in design reviews, and ship code that makes a tangible impact. You’ll follow modern software engineering practices from CI/CD to observability to deliver high-quality, maintainable solutions.
What you'll be doing
- Design and build scalable systems, services, and APIs that meet stakeholder needs.
- Contribute to the full development lifecycle, from planning and implementation to deployment and monitoring.
- Investigate and resolve service issues, performing root cause analysis and implementing long-term fixes.
- Collaborate with platform and product teams to ensure seamless integration and shared understanding of priorities.
- Define observability metrics, analyse logs, and monitor performance to maintain reliability and uptime.
- Participate in code reviews, RFCs, and design discussions, ensuring standards of quality and maintainability.
- Continuously identify areas for technical improvement and contribute to evolving best practices across the engineering function.
Qualifications
What we're looking for
- Proven experience developing modern front-end applications with React and TypeScript, including solid understanding of HTML, CSS (Tailwind), and JavaScript fundamentals.
- Experience with Next.js (or a similar React framework).
- Understanding of serverless and microservices-oriented architectures and how to design and consume REST APIs.
- Knowledge of building high-availability, fault-tolerant, distributed systems.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a continuous improvement mindset
A few nice to haves
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure-as-Code.
- Familiarity with AWS services and modern cloud environments.
- Some exposure to UI/UX design tools such as Figma.
