Job Description
Overview
Lead a well-established Mother Baby/Postpartum unit within a high-acuity, high-volume women’s services program. This leadership role oversees a 22-bed unit with a strong, tenured team and consistent patient census. Ideal for a nurse leader with postpartum expertise who can drive clinical excellence, staff engagement, and patient-centered care in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
Direct and oversee daily operations of the Mother Baby/Postpartum unit
Manage staffing, scheduling, and patient flow across a 22-bed unit
Supervise and mentor RNs, CNAs, and unit support staff
Drive quality outcomes, patient safety initiatives, and regulatory compliance
Collaborate with physicians and leadership to enhance care delivery and patient experience
Develop and implement policies, procedures, and evidence-based practices
Monitor performance metrics and lead continuous improvement efforts
Support staff education, onboarding, and leadership development
Qualifications
Required:
Active RN license or Compact RN license
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN)
Preferred:
Master’s Degree in Nursing or related field
Strong postpartum leadership experience with proven team management success
Experience managing established teams and driving quality metrics
Minimum 3+ years of recent women’s services experience (Mother Baby/Postpartum) in acute care
Minimum 1+ year of leadership experience (Charge Nurse, Supervisor, or Manager)
BLS and ACLS certification
NRP certification (required within defined timeframe if not currently held)
