Director of Surgical Services

Location: Manchester, NH
Schedule: Full-Time | Days (No Weekends)
Salary Range: $110,552 – $176,883.20 annually (based on experience)
Sign-On Bonus: Case-by-case basis

Position Overview

We are hiring a dynamic Director of Surgical Services to lead a high-volume surgical department in a 330-bed acute care hospital serving southern New Hampshire. This is a critical leadership role focused on driving operational excellence, quality outcomes, and a high-performing team culture.

You will oversee all perioperative services including OR, CVOR, and related surgical specialties, and lead a team of 67 FTEs. Service lines include General Surgery, Vascular, CVOR, Urology, GYN, Ortho, and Neuro (no ENT). The facility houses 8 ORs, including 2 dedicated CVORs, and utilizes 2 Da Vinci Xi robots.

Responsibilities

Clinical & Quality Oversight

• Direct operations to ensure high-quality, patient-centered surgical care

• Develop policies to maintain regulatory and accreditation compliance

• Improve clinical benchmarks, patient safety, and throughput performance

Team & Culture Leadership

• Manage and mentor 67+ FTEs, including 2 Certified Nurse Coordinators and a CVOR lead tech

• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning

• Promote team engagement and professional development

Strategic & Financial Management

• Lead forecasting, budgeting, and performance planning

• Monitor KPIs and implement data-driven strategies to improve OR utilization

• Collaborate on business development and service line expansion

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) required

• Master’s Degree preferred

• Active RN license in good standing

• Minimum 3 years of Director-level surgical services experience

• Experience leading multi-specialty OR departments with CVOR preferred

• Strong understanding of perioperative metrics, compliance, and quality standards
