This position oversees a 26-bed adult psychiatric unit, supporting patients through cognitive behavioral intervention therapy and crisis stabilization. As a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring exceptional care and leading a committed team in a fast-paced acute care environment.

Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Manager – Adult | Falls Church, VA

Location: Falls Church, VA
Schedule: Full-time | Days (No Weekends)
Compensation: $90,000 - $105,000 annually, based on years of experience, with additional leadership bonus incentives

Key Responsibilities

• Demonstrate knowledge of human growth, behavioral health treatments, and age-appropriate care.
• Collaborate with staff, physicians, patients, and families to promote satisfaction and service excellence.
• Monitor and enhance patient care quality, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
• Coordinate initial and ongoing staff education, including annual competencies.
• Oversee daily operations, including staffing, scheduling, and productivity management.
• Serve as a backup for the Program Director as needed.
• Maintain adherence to all hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
• Work closely with the Nursing and Program Directors to uphold the mission and vision of the behavioral health program.
• Utilize clinical skills to educate and guide staff in delivering high-quality behavioral healthcare.

Unit Specifics

• Unit Size: 26 beds
• Patient Population: Mixed-gender, 13-17 patients daily
• Length of Stay: Average 5-7 days
• Focus: General psychiatric care with cognitive behavioral interventions

• Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NCI) certification within 30 days of hire.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) strongly preferred.
• Minimum 3-5 years of behavioral health leadership experience in an acute care setting.
