Job Description

Role Description:

Tessenderlo Kerley is looking to add an experienced Operator to its team. 

As one of the Facility Operators, you will oversee the Plant operations in strict adherence to TKI policies, procedures, and a broad range of state and federal regulations.

As an Operator at TKI, you will ensure operational efficiency, safety, and compliance.

Pay for "B level" is $30.16 per hour with a discretionary bonus potential with full benefits, including a 401K  5% match dollar for dollar and a profit sharing up to 4% annually. Opportunities to grow and much more!  

What you will do:

  • Loading and unloading trucks and railcars by TKI policy and OSHA, EPA, HM-126, BOE, and DOT regulations.
  • Reading and recording of local instrumentation. Obtaining and analyzing product samples to ensure product quality.
  • Containment, clean up, packaging, and labeling of Hazardous Waste according to HAZWOPER training and OSHA, EPA, RCRA, HM-126, and DOT regulations.
  • Outside operation of manual valves and equipment.
  • Provide leadership to your shift and personnel on-site to ensure safe and successful operations at the facility.
  • Operation of production units to produce quality spec products.
  • Troubleshoot and correct irregularities with the process and process equipment.
  • Participate in the plant safety program, including presenting and attending required safety meetings, reporting potential hazards, and performing monthly safety inspections.
  • Routine inspection of vessels and equipment to prevent equipment failure or damage.
  • Maintain plant property in a clean and orderly fashion.
  • Assist in plant projects, including maintenance, turn-around, lockout/ tag-out, and confined space entries.
  • Implement an emergency response plan and assist in the mitigation of emergencies.
  • Perform any other duties as deemed necessary by management.
  • Support plant operations by all applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Demonstrate ability to communicate and work with co-workers and customers professionally.
  • Comply with all TKI policies.

    Qualifications

    What you will need:

    • HS diploma or GED is required.
    • Technical and mechanical experience desired.
    • Demonstrate ability to communicate and work with co-workers and customers professionally.
    • Cooperation Collaboration and the ability to take charge
    • Good mechanical and technical knowledge and skills
    • Must be able to read and understand the material
    • Basic mathematical and analytical skills
    • Basic knowledge of chemistry
    • Good written and verbal communication skills
    • Computer literate – must know basic computer skills

    Physical Requirements:

    • Must be able to lift 50 pounds, stand for prolonged periods, climb multiple flights of stairs, and have the ability to perform various tasks using reaching, pulling, and pushing techniques.
    • Must be medically cleared to utilize self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA), in-line air with full face respirator, and other respiratory equipment.
