Job Description
As part of the ICT team of Tessenderlo Group, the ICT SAP BI Technical Analyst will contribute to and undertake all required efforts & initiatives to provide high performance (agile, lean & reliable) IT Services
Your function:
You are part of the Global BI team for Tessenderlo Group and you report to SAP Finance & BI teamlead.
As member of the BI team you support the different business units in making the best use of the information contained in the data collected
You work closely with the business to provide the most applicable tools and processes to support business decisions, performance management and key performance indicators
You support initiatives to increase effectiveness and efficiency of analytics within the group - like the development of self-service BI, the introduction of new analytics technologies and the improvement of overall system performance
You collaborate with other members of IT to deliver an optimal experience to the business
Duties and responsibilities
You provide an effective customer service to the business meeting and exceeding expectations in regards to SLA’s, procedures or internal standards
You work to make the BI team a reliable business partner for the delivery of information. You understand that guaranteed, trusted on-time data availability is key
You take ownership for incidents or requests assigned to you
You communicate appropriately to internal customers
You collaborate openly and honestly within the team and to the business
You work at building the best user experience for the business by leveraging all the tools (SAP suite, Microsoft Office, Microsoft SQL, …) and skills available within the group
You understand business requirements and are able to translate them into technical design specifications
You are able to build, code, test, validate and deliver a technical solution within the SAP BI tools
You keep readability, maintenance and performance in mind when developing a technical solution
You work accurately, in a structured way while respecting internal standards and BI best practices
You actively review and monitor the technical landscape to keep user experience and system stability optimal
You work on the system quality and performance by implementing best practices and by offering alternatives for simplification and standardization - independently or under supervision depending on your expertise
You write clear technical specification and documentation
You support the business by preparing material (training material, fact sheets, how to…) and providing trainings
You assist the business in data validation, ad-hoc analysis or more complex reporting
Qualifications
Your profile:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, or relevant professional qualification or experience.
- You have at least 4 years of hands-on relevant experience in SAP BI and/or SAP BPC
- SAP ABAP development experience mandatory
- In depth experience in designing BEx Queries using SAP Query Designer is mandatory
- Functional knowledge of business processess in SAP R/3 is a strong plus (Order-To-Cash, Inventory Management, Cost Center Accounting, …)
- Experience with BusinessObjects (WEBI, publications, Analysis for Office….) is a plus
- Experience with Eclise Studio is a plus
- Experience with dashboard tools (SAC or Microsoft PowerBI) is a plus
You are interested and abreast of trends and changing technologies around analytics

- You work autonomously and you have a self-starter and proactive attitude
- You have an excellent attention to detail
- Excellent analytical, problem solving and consulting skills
- You have good interpersonal and communication skills
You are fluent in English and in Dutch or French with a good working knowledge of the 2nd language.
You are willing to travel (mainly in Europe) - if necessary and for specific assignments
