Job Description

As Business Improvement and Development Manager, you will play a vital role in the BU’s growth and improvement ambitions. You will guide the business on market approaches, and drive development strategies for the different product portfolio’s. Beyond business development projects, you will also be involved in the business transformation agenda by structuring and coordinating improvement initiatives.

This function is based in Belgium (Brussels & Ham) and reports to the Head of Business Analysis, Development & Transformation.

Tasks and responsibilities

Analysis

  • You support BU management decission making, through fact based analysis, on commercial and cost performance.

  • You provide meaningful and actionable insights to commercial management on market & competitive intelligence.

Growth

  • You confirm target markets for product and geographical development, and define & drive development plans up to initial phase of implementation.

  • You support the BU’s growth ambition by coordinating and detailing the business cases for footprint expansions.

  • You deliver, where needed autonomously, on specifically attributed strategic initiatives (i.e. partnerships, M&A files,…)

Improvement

  • You identify and initiate new improvement initiatives, and ensure follow-up of implementation and savings.

  • You share best practices in project management and coach, where needed, line management in project implementation and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

·        You hold a Master’s degree in Engineering (Bio-/Agro- preferrred) or Economics, and have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a simular industrial/ functional role, or top tier management consultancy position.

·        Experience in the Agro sector is a definitive plus.

·        You have strong analytical and problem solving skills with a strong business accumen

·        You have project management experience.

·        Excellent communication and presentation skills in English. Knowledge of any other European Language is a plus (e.g., French, Spanish). You must be able to communicate easily across all levels, inside and outside the organization.

·        You are result driven with a pragmatic can-do attitude and able to work both in team and autonomous.

·        Willingness to travel abroad.
