Job Description
Job Introduction
The Experience API (xAPI) team’s mission is to be the primary information delivery backbone for digital experiences across Tesco Customer, Colleague and Supplier.
The xAPI powers Tesco’s digital shopping experience, enabling Tesco customers to shop across a range of applications and devices including websites, mobile apps, tablets, voice assistants, in-store tills, and scan-as-you-shop handsets. Supporting UK, ROI and CE markets, the xAPI connects other API services such as Identity, Customer Order, Digital Content, Search and Recommendations, Contact, Transport, Address and Payment, and many more.
The xAPI platform is an orchestration and abstraction layer that provides a GraphQL based ‘Experience API’ interface that enables ease of integration between Tesco’s front-end applications and back-end services. Leveraging GraphQL, the xAPI allows our customer facing teams to specify the data they need, making it easier to aggregate requirements from multiple sources across Tesco. Our success is the difference between millions of happy customers or millions of missed opportunities.
