Job Description
- Deep understanding of Tableau Desktop and Server platform including various add-ons like Data and Server Management.
- Hands on experience on installations, upgrades, monitoring & troubleshooting of Tableau Server platform.
- Strong knowledge of SQL, Dimensional modelling and RDBMS concepts.
- In depth knowledge of Python, TabCmd/TSM and Tableau Server REST API and ability to automate repetitive tasks like governance & housekeeping and extend Tableau framework.
- Understanding of GDPR concepts and ability to architect the platform taking into account Access management, Asset Management, Data Retention, Data Transfer, Data Minimisation, Encryption & Antivirus, Privacy & Security, Availability & Integrity.
- Understanding of web framework and ability to integrate Tableau visualisations in third party web portals.
- Develop best practices and guidelines for producing optimised data sources and workbooks on the platform.
- Understanding of related systems/concepts like SSL, SAML, Active Directory, VMware.
- Knowledge of Alation & Alteryx tools and Hadoop/Teradata data warehouses is a plus.
- Understanding of agile methodology and Kanban framework.
- Ability to understand the market and business requirements and keep evolving the platform and solutions
- Produce clear technical documentation of platform and process architecture.
- Unit, integration, functional and performance testing of data sources, workbooks and platform setup.
- Knowledge of CI/CD tools like Jenkins.
- Knowledge of tools like AppDynamics, Splunk, Airflow, Chef is a plus.
- Knowledge of Source control management such as git or subversion.
- Working knowledge of both Windows and Linux OS including knowledge of Powershell/Shell scripting.
- Basic understanding of networking concepts would be a plus.
- Understanding of various aspects of data security and classifications (PII/HIPAA/PCI etc). Understanding of server hardening
- Ability to own and deliver on the requirements without assistance.
- Ability to work equally comfortably with business users and other development and platform teams.
