REQUIREMENT: Telum Corporation is currently seeking an exceptionally qualified individual to serve as a Close Quarters Training (CQT) Course Instructor. THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT UPON CONTRACT AWARD.

LOCATION: Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan

CLEARANCE: Active U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance

Job Description: The Close Quarters Training (CQT) Course Instructor will provide instructional services as well as exercise and training support by providing relevant and realistic specialized individual skills and collective unit training to the Maritime Raid Force (MRF), MRF enablers, reconnaissance and surveillance teams, and scout snipers assigned to III Marine Expeditionary Force (MEF) and the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) in support of the III MEF Expeditionary Operations Training Group (EOTG). Instructors will provide classroom and practical application instruction for Close Quarters Tactics (CQT), Urban Reconnaissance and Surveillance (R&S), opposed Visit, Board, Search and Seizure (VBSS), and Urban/Aerial Sniping. Instructors will provide subject matter expertise, planning, and position safety officer support to Realistic Urban Training Exercise (RUTEX), Certification Exercise (CERTEX), and Interoperability Exercise (INTEROP). Instructors will also execute of site surveys, and final planning conferences for exercises and training events as required plus provide instruction during annual sustainment/proficiency training evolutions, course content review boards, and all other specialized training support services required

Qualifications

Experience and Education:

Required

  • Combat Veteran
  • Minimum of (10) years of honorable service in the United States Armed Forces or civilian law enforcement agency equivalent
  • No more than (5) years removed from active duty or contract assignment teaching or applying close quarters combat techniques
  • Must have held the 0321 (USMC) / 0370 (USMC) / 0372 (USMC) / 18B(USA) / 18F(USA) / 18D(USA) / 18E(USA) / 18Z (USA) military occupational specialty, or military service or civilian law enforcement agency equivalent
  • Graduate of Expeditionary/Special Operations Training Group’s Close Quarters Tactics Course, Special Forces Advanced Urban Combat, Special Forces Advanced Reconnaissance and Target Exploitation Course, or Master Assaulter’s Course
  • Graduate of Methods of Entry Course (USMC), Master Breachers Course, or equivalent 
  • Graduate of basic and/or senior instructor course (USMC), service equivalent, or previous experience as an instructor teaching these specific skill sets
  • Served as a close quarters combat instructor within Special Mission/Training Branch at an Expeditionary/Special Operations Training Group (USMC), Special Forces Advanced Urban Combat Course, Special Forces Advanced Reconnaissance and Target Exploitation Course, Master Assaulters Course, or military service or civilian equivalent course
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing
  • Must be able to be able to pass the United State Marine Corps and Marine Corps Base Camp Butler Range Safety Officer Curriculum
  • United States citizen
  • Provide services in a professional and unbiased manner
  • Maintain military customs and courtesies, demonstrate a knowledge and familiarity with the organization and hierarchy of the United States Marine Corps, military rank/grade structure, knowledge of Marine Corps and military terminology, and shipboard environments
  • Must be eligible, submit, and be granted an arms, ammunition, and explosive handing certification
  • All instructors must be able to pass within 90 days of arrival to Okinawa and maintain an eighty percent qualification score in the United States Marine Corps modified qualification course of fire with the United States Marine Corps issued service rifle and pistol. Additionally, the Contractor will be required to qualify with weapon systems taught IAW prescribed POI standards. All assigned weapons based instructors will re-qualify / conduct proficiency training on the courses of fire and with the type of weapons they instruct. Assigned instructor personnel will be provided the opportunity to sustain weapons qualification at the same time as military and Government civilian instructors. For these weapon qualifications, the Government will provide weapons, ammunition, and range facilities. Documentation of this qualification shall be included in the contractor’s Instructor Training Jackets (ITJs).
  • Knowledge of common commercial computer applications (e.g. Outlook, Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel, etc) to produce a variety of documents, charts, graphs, and briefing materials and devices/equipment (tablets, smartphones, etc) to present and execute training
  • Possess and maintain a current in Basic First Aid and possess a current Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
  • Able to obtain a contractor’s common access card, which will serve as identification for instructors and will enable them to access government owned computer equipment and Non-secure Internet Protocol (NIPR)
  • Be physically capable of performing all required tasks
  • Honorably discharged from the United States Armed Forces
