    Job Description

    Position Summary

The Facility Manager owns full operational and financial performance of the Asheville branch. This role is accountable for branch P&L, inventory integrity, safety, staffing, and customer experience. The position replaces an interim management arrangement; we are seeking a permanent leader who can stabilize operations quickly and drive measurable improvement in margin, throughput, and working capital efficiency.

    Key Responsibilities

    Branch P&L & Financial Performance

    • Own branch revenue, gross margin, and operating expense targets; report monthly against budget
    • Manage controllable costs: labor hours, overtime, freight, shrink, supplies, and equipment maintenance
    • Support pricing discipline at the counter and on quotes within company margin guidelines

    Operations & Inventory

    • Direct daily warehouse operations: receiving, put-away, picking, staging, cutting/processing, and loading
    • Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts and shrink controls; manage slow-moving and obsolete stock
    • Coordinate replenishment with purchasing; flag stockouts and overstock positions affecting working capital

    Safety & Compliance

    • Enforce OSHA-compliant safety practices for forklift, overhead crane/hoist, saw, and material-handling operations
    • Lead incident reporting, corrective actions, and recurring safety training; target zero recordables
    • Maintain facility, equipment, and fleet inspection and maintenance schedules

    Team Leadership

    • Hire, train, schedule, and develop warehouse, counter, and delivery staff
    • Set clear performance expectations; conduct reviews and address performance issues directly
    • Build bench depth so the branch operates without single-person dependencies

    Customer Service & Sales Support

    • Ensure fast, accurate will-call and counter service; resolve order discrepancies and quality claims
    • Partner with business development and inside sales on quotes, lead times, and key account service
    • Manage delivery scheduling and routing for on-time, damage-free delivery

    Logistics & Facility

    • Oversee delivery fleet utilization, DOT compliance, and driver performance
    • Maintain facility condition, yard organization, and security
