Job Description

Primary Responsibilities:

Serve as Engineer of Record and stamp/seal civil and structural design documents.

Lead civil and structural design efforts for infrastructure upgrades and facility improvements at SPR sites.

Develop and review:

Structural steel systems (pipe racks, platforms, equipment supports)

Reinforced concrete foundations and slabs

Equipment and tank foundations

Anchorage and embedment systems

Grading, drainage, and site development plans

Perform structural analysis in accordance with:

ASCE 7 (including coastal wind exposure requirements)

ACI 318

AISC Steel Manual

UFC criteria and DOE standards

Prepare and review calculations, technical specifications, design narratives, and construction documents.

Coordinate with mechanical, piping, electrical, and process disciplines.

Support value engineering reviews, constructability reviews, and internal quality assurance.

Provide engineering support during construction (RFIs, submittals, site visits).

Participate in field investigations and structural condition assessments.

Projects are primarily delivered using a Design-Bid-Build approach within a federal contracting framework.

 

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering

Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required

Licensed in Louisiana and Texas or able to obtain reciprocity in both states

12+ years of progressive civil/structural design experience

Demonstrated experience serving as Engineer of Record and stamping construction documents

Extensive experience in:

Industrial structural steel design

Reinforced concrete design

Heavy equipment foundation design

Wind loading in hurricane-prone regions

Experience supporting federal clients (DOE, USACE, VA, DOD preferred)

Proficiency with structural analysis software (RAM, RISA, STAAD, or similar)

Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit

Ability to obtain and maintain required site access/security clearance

 

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in energy, petroleum, or industrial processing facilities

Familiarity with UFC criteria and federal design standards

Experience performing structural assessments of aging infrastructure

Construction phase engineering support experience
 

Education:

Bachelor's (Preferred)

 

Experience:

Civil and structural design: 10 years (Required)

 

License/Certification:

Professional Engineer (Required)
