Deputy PM/Scrum Master, McLean, VA

Description of specific Duties in a typical workday for this position:

  • Assist the project manager and technical lead in creating, monitoring and managing project tasks and schedules
  • Assist with project reporting and documentation
  • Conduct document peer reviews prior to delivering to customer
  • Conduct daily scrum meetings and monitor sprint progress
  • Responsible for documenting customer meeting minutes, business needs, stakeholder requests, etc.
  • Assist the project manager and technical lead in ensuring adherence of required policies, quality standards and mandatory requirements across all SDLC phases
  • Facilitate solution delivery and problem solving by motivating the team and mitigating obstacles
  • Facilitate internal and external quality audits, trainings, and workshops
  • Facilitate internal and external project meetings

Qualifications

Position Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other related scientific or technical discipline
  • Minimum of two (2) years progressive project experience, most of which must have been in a specialized area, in information systems development
  • At least three years’ supervisory experience
  • Experience in Project development from inception to deployment
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and provide technical guidance and direction in multiple tasks across several functional areas
  • Experience in reviewing and ensuring required standards are followed in the project across all SDLC phases
  • Experience in tracking day to day tasks and project deliverables
  • Experience in performing the Scrum Master role
  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills, and meticulous attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment with limited supervision
  • Proven ability to directly interact and collaborate with various external stakeholders, develop strong relationships through interpersonal skills, delivery and communication excellence
  • Ability to identify and address project dependencies, risks and impacts and manage or escalate risks in a timely manner and take initiative to drive results
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and information comprehension and fast learning skills
  • Proficiency in agile management tools such as JIRA, or similar
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite: Word, Excel, Power Point, and Visio

  • Experience working on Federal Contracts

 

This is a full time position paying a base salary, full benefits, and has possible bonus potential based on merit and performance.
