Cloud Administrator, Wright Patterson AFB, OH

Description of specific Duties in a typical workday for this position:

  • Application and Database Administration, including but not limited to:

    • Provide log files to developers for troubleshooting support

    • Promote application release from Dev to Test to Production cloud environments

    • Manage backups through utilization of the datapump to move between environments

    • Execute data scripts provided by Application operations

  • Cloud Administration, including but not limited to:

    • Modify cloud scaling plan (e.g. elasticities ranges) as approved by the PMO

    • Modify continuous integration / continuous deployment scripts using tools like Ansible and Jenkins,

    • Coordinate patching activities with Cloud Host and PMO

    • Install new versions of tools and utilities in cloud host environment

    • Review AWS interfaces and support troubleshooting file transfer issues

    • Monitor and receive notification from environments and take necessary action

    • Troubleshoot and correct issues as identified

    • Adjust alerting/monitoring thresholds and parameters based on actual system behaviors

  • Risk Management Framework (RMF) Support, including but not limited to:

    • STIG application and database

    • Update Cybersecurity policies in application and database per RMF requirements

  • Reporting/Briefings, including but not limited to:

    • Report on all Cloud Host related activities

    • Weekly status briefing to PMO, or as requested

    • Daily reports on system and system availability

Qualifications

Position Requirements:

  • US Citizenship

  • Active Secret clearance

  • Experience administering AWS Cloud environments or equivalent cloud environments

  • Security+ Certificate

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with other clouds, i.e.  Azure, MilCloud, SmartCloud, DataCloud, etc.

  • Experience configuring DevSecOps CI/CD pipeline to support automated builds and deployments with tools such as Ansible and Jenkins

  • Applicable Cloud certification(s)

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or related field.

  • Experience with AF Logistics applications

  • Experience working with Air Force Systems sustainment policies and processes

  • WSMIS application experience

  • Experience with CMMI

 

This is a full time position paying a base salary, full benefits, and has possible bonus potential based on merit and performance.
