10 (+) years experience as a lead developer / designer/ data architect 

8 (+) years of database/DBA background working with SQL Server (2005/2008 preferred) , etc… 

5 (+) years experience at coding with ASP.NET/VB.NET, etc… 

A solid understanding of database clustering, data performance issues, physical and logical data design and object-oriented programming (OOP) and a computer science background is needed - 

A knowledge of .NET 3.5/4.0 Framework, including Visual Studio 2008, VB.NET, ASP.NET is required and digit technology skills a plus 

A Strong knowledge of software implementation best practices - required 

Strong experience designing and working with n-tier architectures (UI, Business Logic Layer, Data Access Layer) along with some experience with service-oriented architectures (SOA) 

A Strong knowledge of and the ability to design and optimize TSQL, and stored procedures 

Large Insurance Company, background a plus (areas of concentration – underwriting and reinsurance a plus) 

The ability to adapt quickly to an existing, complex environment required 

Master degree in Computer Science a plus, Software Engineering or a related areas a plus. 

Advanced degrees required
