Job Description

The Logistics Manager is responsible for executing Taylor Stitch’s transportation logistics. This role serves as the liaison between Taylor Stitch’s product team, vendors and transportation partners, ensuring the most timely and cost efficient movement of all bulk production from factory to fulfillment center. This person will require a sharp skillset to balance priorities of speed with cost efficiency despite a volatile freight market. Attention to detail will be critical for this role to maintain internal systems meticulously as it relates to data entry and maintenance across various platforms.

Responsibilities:

  • Point person for delivery status internally - ensure Taylor Stitch team is consistently updated on deliveries by maintaining internal delivery status tracking tool, communicating any changes to key partners & ensuring guest facing delivery information is accurate.
  • Responsible for moving all finished goods and bulk materials from origin to final destination, providing necessary information to ensure timely clearance and escalating delays to the cross-functional team for contingency planning.
  • Vet various forwarders as well as modes of transportation to execute the most cost efficient route given timing constraints in an effort to reduce landing costs year over year.
  • Prevent delays and quality issues through diligent communication and problem solving
  • Partner with Production Manager on forecasting landing costing during pre-season planning, duty engineering where possible to maximize savings.
  • Product entry and maintenance within internal systems and affiliated administrative tasks such as UPC/HTS code assignment and barcode creation.
  • Review and approve freight invoices from forwarders, ensure costing and payment terms are accurate and paid on time .
  • Reconcile financials by actualizing final landed costs in record keeping real-time, partnering with planning teams to adjust forecasts as costs shifts.
  • Prepare and analyze ad-hoc reporting and KPI as necessary
  • Drive continuous improvement in logistics operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Logistics or related field with 3-5 years experience in transportation logistics
  • NetSuite and Shopify experience preferred
  • Strong cross functional leadership team : influencing, collaboration skills and teamwork
  • Strong organizational skills and detail-oriented work ethic
  • Excellent communication and follow through skills
  • High sense of urgency and sound decision making
  • Strong vendor negotiation and relationship experience
  • Proficiency in PC applications including excel and word
  • Expertise in duty classifications (HTS coding)
