Job Description

Summary
The production manager is responsible for executing Taylor Stitch’s product development & production logistics. This role serves as the liaison between Taylor Stitch’s product team, vendor partners and customers, ensuring the timely movement of all development & production from prototype to commercialization.


Development

  • Partner w tech & design to ensure timely release of technical packets, request patterns, component development & prototypes, facilitating progress by fielding related questions
  • Build and execute TNA’s on style basis to ensure milestone deadlines are achieved
  • Coordinate approval of color, wash, trims, prototypes in alignment with calendar
  • Attend all fit sessions to ensure development remains on-time and achieves cost target

Production

  • Point person for delivery status - ensure team is consistently updated on deliveries by maintaining internal production status tracking tool, communicating any changes to key partners & ensuring guest facing delivery information is accurate
  • Gather & deliver all production materials needed to the appropriate partners in a timely manner (markers, bulk fabrics, trims, packaging, etc…)
  • Initiate and maintain all cost sheets, negotiate costing at factory style level and review cost breakdowns to help engineer construction in most cost efficient way
  • Release purchase orders to factories, ensuring utmost accuracy in details
  • Review invoices from suppliers, ensure costing and payment terms are accurate and paid on time
  • Review WIP reports with factories daily and ensure accurate
  • Reserve capacity with factories in advance to reduce leadtimes
  • Create packing & shipping guidelines and guide factories through execution
  • Coordinate all logistics for bulk fabric, trims & garments, vetting various carriers and approving most cost efficient transportation mode
  • Serve as the eyes in the factories & escalate any production issues to leadership
  • Prevent delays and quality issues through diligent communication and problem solving

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Apparel Manufacturing or related field with 3-5 years experience in an apparel product development and production,
  • Strong cross functional leadership team : influencing, collaboration skills and teamwork
  • Strong organizational skills and detail-oriented work ethic
  • Excellent communication and follow through skills
  • High sense of urgency and sound decision making
  • Strong vendor negotiation and relationship experience
  • Proficiency in PC applications including excel and word
  • Expertise in time and action calendars
