Job Description

The Production Manager is responsible for executing Taylor Stitch’s product development & production logistics. This role serves as the liaison between Taylor Stitch’s product team and vendor business partners, ensuring the timely movement of all development & production materials from prototype through purchase orders.

Product Development Coordination 

  • Release technical packets, request patterns & prototypes, communicate TNA’s and ensure prototypes are received per our launch calendar
  • Track, unpack, and log all samples throughout the development process
  • Gather & deliver all development materials to appropriate partners physically 
  • Coordinate approval of color, wash, trims, and prototypes in alignment with calendar
  • Constantly monitor the status of development and communicate updates to technical, creative & marketing teams for scheduling of fittings and photoshoots

Production Management

  • Constantly monitor status of production & shipments and communicate updates to marketing, wholesale and planning teams
  • Set up and execute development through bulk shipment TNA's with vendors and factory partners, ensuring calendar adherence and eliminating any potentials for delays
  • Negotiate costing with vendor and factory partners, identifying opportunities to reduce cost
  • Reserve capacity with factories, by partnering with planning to maintain projections
  • Order and track bulk materials and components as needed for CMT factories, ensuring receipt in factory by requested date
  • Release and track purchase orders with factories, ensuring on-time shipments
  • Coordinate logistics of bulk shipments by approving quotations and booking freight while optimizing for cost savings 
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date WIP reporting with factory partners and manage the troubleshooting of quality issues and production delays as they arise
  • Efficiently gather & deliver all production trims & materials needed to the appropriate partners physically and electronically
  • Serve as the eyes in the factories & escalate any production issues to product team
  • Enforce policies described in vendor manuals, charging back for delays and quality issues

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Apparel Design with a minimum of 5 years experience in an apparel product development or production role (bonus points if at startup!)
  • Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ambitious, proactive, positive, and sound decision-making skills
  • Must be knowledgeable of garment construction, global raw material procurement, and manufacturing
