  • Writing executive-level research and presenting findings (virtually and in person) to our enterprise clients in Human Resources and Talent Acquisition
  • Supporting the broader research team in the execution of an annual research agenda
  • Analyzing survey data for meaningful and actionable insights
  • Interacting with leading organizations to understand their needs and tailor research product to meet those needs

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have the stated experience level and possess the following skills:

  • Insatiably curious: Our research team is a group of lifelong learners, always asking questions. We are looking for someone that loves to get to the bottom of things, seeks to find out how and why things work the way they do, and exhibits a general passion for learning.
  • Articulate: Companies and executives rely on our research to make decisions. You should be able to articulate ideas clearly in writing and in person, and synthesize key, relevant points from a mountain of noisy and often messy or even conflicted data. You can explain abstract ideas in a clear and simple way.
  • Critical thinker: You can separate fact from fiction, and know how to spot marketing fluff a mile away. Even though you may not be an economics major, you possess analytical skills and can spot trends in data.
  • Results-oriented: You are the kind of person that does what you say you are going to do, and can manage projects under a deadline. People rely on you to get things done.
  • Detail-oriented: You care about the details. You take the time to make sure things are not just done, but done right.
  • Team player: You are enjoyable to be around, and are professional and conscientious towards your co-workers and clients. We work in a very tight-knit and highly collaborative environment, and work hard to foster a culture of teamwork, friendliness, and collaborative success.
  • Flexible: As a fast-growing startup, priorities can and do change rapidly, and the workload can vary significantly. We are looking for someone that thrives in this kind of environment and knows when to ask permission and when to take independent action.
  • Growth mindset: In this role, you have the opportunity to write your own career path. We are growing, and there are always areas of opportunity or places we could be better at creating value. You can not only spot new opportunities, you are confident in recommending them and making a business case to the team.

For this role we seek people who have some of the following:

  • Experience working or interning at a major consulting firm (McKinsey, BCG, Deloitte, etc.)
  • Experience in a Talent Acquisition or HR role
  • Experience working at a Talent Acquisition Technology firm (e.g. Indeed, Upwork, Workday, Greenhouse, Paradox, etc.), particularly if in a Partnerships or Product Manager role
  • Experience working at another analyst firm (Gartner, CEB, etc.)
  • Experience in a Research or Product role at a technology company
  • Bachelors or Graduate degree in Business, Economics, Statistics, CS, or Journalism
  • None of the above but incredibly hungry, willing and able to learn, and a strong desire to win

Our Hiring Process:

After applying, you will be invited to take a brief assessment online, which is designed to reflect the kind of work and thinking you’d be doing in this role. All candidates who pass this assessment will be invited to interview with our VP of Research along with other members of the research team. If there is mutual interest at this point, the final step is to have you complete a written analysis of a technology vendor (we will provide you a demo to review and a template / prompts to follow) for which you will be compensated.

The philosophy behind our hiring process is two-fold. First, our initial assessment is not based on industry knowledge or prior experience, and it allows us to find talented individuals from different backgrounds that can thrive in this kind of environment that we otherwise would likely not have found if only reviewing a resume. Second, we’ve found that this process gives applicants a feel for whether or not this kind of work is a good fit, as you’ll get a chance to try some of the actual work that you’d be doing day in and day out as well as meet the team you’ll be working with.
