Where You’ll Work
This opportunity is based at the company’s largest packaging facility in Almere, spanning 30,000 m². You’ll join a close-knit team of 17, reporting to the Team Leader of Corrective Maintenance within the Technical Department. As a family-owned business, this company has a deep-rooted passion for food and quality, with a 2,000-member workforce dedicated to producing top-tier cheese, dairy, and tapas products for customers worldwide.
Job Description
What You’ll Do
As the Maintenance Malfunction Engineer, you’ll ensure the smooth, efficient, and safe operation of 20 unique production lines. The key expectations will include:
- Troubleshooting & Repairs:
- Identify and resolve mechanical and electrical malfunctions, restoring equipment functionality quickly.
- Preventive Maintenance:
- Conduct scheduled maintenance to keep the machinery in peak condition.
- Optimization:
- Modify and improve systems to enhance safety and efficiency.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with production staff to diagnose issues and oversee contractors to ensure top-quality maintenance.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Use your technical expertise to propose and implement optimizations that align with quality and efficiency goals.
You will work within a 5-shift rotation:
- Morning Shift: 06:00 AM - 02:00 PM (2 days)
- Afternoon Shift: 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM (2 days)
- Night Shift: 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM (2 days)
After these rotations, you’ll enjoy 4 consecutive days off, giving you a balanced work-life schedule!

Qualifications
Who You Are
- Technically Skilled:
- Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems (W/E) with a completed MBO level 3 or higher (N4) in a relevant field like Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
- A Problem-Solver:
- Adept at identifying root causes of malfunctions and implementing solutions.
- Possess Language & Communication Proficiency:
- Fluent in Afrikaans. This is not negotiable.
- Dutch speakers will have a significant advantage. Dutch Language lessons are however provided to boost your learning.
- Flexible & Adaptable:
- Comfortable working in a 5-shift system, including weekends as required.
