Sr. Human Resource Consultant’s / hands-on (virtual – flex) for corporate start-ups & small businesses.

Human Resource Consultants with broad and deep, full-cycle, Human Resource talents.  Roll-up-sleeves with no HR task too small or large.

  • Contract or may transition as permanent
  • Virtual / Remote / Video meetings
  • 25% travel may be required.
  • Flex billing per hour (s) with multiple clients. 

Reports directly to Presidents/CEO's with CFO/CPA's.

Job Description

The Human Resources Consultant (s) provides consultation and guidance.  

Creating Human Resource procedures.

The HR Consultant will help maximize a start-up and small company’s success through proper management of policies, procedures, and staff training in the interpretation of human resource management (including the application of related government laws and regulations).

  • Advise clients and their staff on HR best practices.
  • Help clients strategically integrate effective HR processes, programs, and practices into their daily operations.
  • Ensure business practices are in accordance with human resource policies and labor laws in their respective states.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Listen to clients’ needs and/or issues and make recommendations based on their individual situation. 
  • Consulting is delivered through phone consults, email interactions, and in (possibly) in person during company and industry meetings and functions.
  • Develop strategies for HR best practice that are customized for each clients’ practice.
  • Assist members and their staff in the implementation of new HR strategies and tactics.
  • Communicate best practice on a broad range of HR topics, to include, compensation, performance management, employee benefits, training, human relations and employee performance issues, state and federal HR laws, and HR policy and procedures.
  • Develop individual client related; manuals, handouts, forms, and other materials related to HR.
  • Maintain and update HR forms and materials.
  • Development of employee handbooks, office policy and procedure, job descriptions, employment ads, training outlines and programs, and other HR related materials.
  • Partner with the client CFO/CPA/Accounting in execution of the annual salary survey; research compensation and provide comparative salary analysis for members as requested.
  • Advise clients on how to handle employee performance issues, with sound advice on disciplinary procedures, documentation, and termination procedures.
  • Create weekly and /or monthly webinars, vlogs, and articles.
  • Monitor and participate in online forums and social media platforms.
  • Advise clients as needed or requested.
  • Produce reports to gauge productivity.
  • Actively participate in planning sessions.
  • May travel to meet client teams in person.
  • Coordinate daily activities and handle special projects as assigned.
  • Highly organized to track 2-3 clients at one time.
  • Report progress, internal meetings, with TalentGen Global, USA.
  • Billing, Invoicing.

  • Job pressures are high for meeting deadlines, working on multiple tasks at one time, and frequent interruptions.
  • Occupational requirements for this position include the ability to see, hear, and speak clearly and distinctly.

  • ·This position requires the ability to work extended or unusual hours to meet the occasional needs of the clients.
  • Travel may be required.
  • This position reports to President’s /CEO.

        SUPERVISION

This position may have supervisor responsibilities in developing and building on-site teams for clients.  However, not in a recruiting capacity.  
 

Qualifications

  • Interest and expertise in all aspects of HR management with no task too small or large.
  • Proficient at Internet research for applicable state and federal law in providing advice; reach out to federal and state labor departments for information and clarification as needed.
  • Use of sound judgment in providing advice and knowing when to recommend services of an employment attorney.
  • Proven internal and external customer service skills required to create, maintain, and enhance client relationships.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, including public speaking
  • Excellent planning, scheduling, and organizational skills.
  • Extremely detailed oriented.
  • High level of initiative and works will in a team environment and virtually.
  • Plans and carries out responsibilities with minimal direction.
  • EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • This position requires a college degree in Human Resources Management or Business Management with specialized study in HR management.
  • MA Degree a PLUS.
  • A minimum of 15-20+ years’ experience in HR and management.
  • Knowledge of employment law; multi-state experiences a plus.
  • SHRM certification a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft suite of products to include Outlook, Work, PowerPoint, and Excel.
