The SQL Server DBA Engineer provides the technical design and delivery role in the Engineering and Infrastructure Delivery lifecycles from installation, integration, maintenance, currency and upgrades of database software and features as it relates to the Microsoft platform.

As the SME SQL Server DBA, you’ll ensure database integrity, compliance, monitor database utilization, user functions, and performance metrics.

You’ll analyze project requirements, design solutions and integrate the SQL Server in accordance with the business user requirements, methods and standards throughout the project lifecycle.

Work with other Engineers to develop appropriate enterprise Database Standards.

Work with cross functional teams including: external Service Providers and the Business, Development, QA and Application Support teams during the Development, QA, and Production release cycles.

Job Description

•  The SQL Server DBA will work to drive infrastructure development and will be the Database Subject Matter Expert (SME).

• Coordinate requirements, review and track change requests, defect assessment, and system configuration. Provide knowledge transfer and database solution support coordination, 3rd level production support, priority management and implementation of break-fix, maintenance and change requests.

• Research, evaluate, develop and implement SQL Server Database Engineering designs and standards following enterprise industry best practices.

• Work with the other IT organizations to design, develop, and implement Enterprise SQL Server Databases in support of development, test, and production environments

Qualifications

• 3-5 years demonstrated relevant experience in SQL Server Database versions 2012 and 2016

• 3 years of experience in systems design, implementation and Level 3 support activities

• Hands-on experience with server hardware and operating systems, including Active Directory (AD)

• Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO) experience using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools.

• DBA experience with Oracle and/or MySQL and understanding of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server are highly desired skills
