Our Drug Delivery Product Design & Development Consulting | TTP team is looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer who can bridge the gap between client ambition and technical delivery. You will work closely with our business development colleagues to understand our client's needs and build compelling proposals for solving their most technically complex challenges. Once a project is defined, you will take responsibility for technical delivery and ensuring the project continues to meet the needs and ambitions of our clients.

As a design and engineering consultancy specialising in advanced drug delivery devices and combination products, we help teams take devices from blank sheet to clinical reality, addressing challenges such as high-viscosity biologics and advanced formulations. With deep engineering, scientific and human factors expertise, our team guides product development projects from early feasibility and concept creation through to design, verification, transfer to manufacture and launch. We focus on developing robust, efficient and scalable devices that support therapeutic effectiveness and perform reliably in real-world use.

As a Mechanical Engineer at TTP you’ll work on complex engineering challenges, using a solid grounding in first-principles engineering knowledge to identify and develop solutions. This will involve a combination of creative idea-generation, analysis, modelling, design and problem solving, as well as hands-on experimental work to take your ideas from the lab to pilot scale testing. As a consultant, you’ll also use this knowledge to explore new business opportunities for the team and will have the opportunity to build your project leadership capability.

We are looking for someone who thrives with autonomous ownership across the whole arc of a project. Depending on your strengths and interests, this role provides a pathway to leading how we approach project delivery and client management and, for the right person, towards a broader leadership role in our Pharma market team.

Ideal candidates will bring demonstrable mechanical engineering capability, through a strong academic background and expertise in the following areas: 

• Minimum Masters qualification in a relevant technical discipline, along with 3 years + of industry experience.
• Practiced in client engagements, building trusted relationships with Partners in key accounts, participating in Sales meetings and leading prosecution of opportunities.
• Mechanical Engineering including concept creation, analysis, modelling, detailed design and rapid prototyping.
• Leading and/or assisting with project scoping, proposal creation, programme planning, communication of deliverables and milestone mapping.
• Strong understanding of first principles and ability to apply to a wide range of technical challenges, sometimes in an unfamiliar domain with clear reasoning.
