Company Description
Equipment Supply Chain Lead
Full time, onsite, Melbourn, Cambridgeshire
Cell therapies are already changing what is possible for patients with devastating diseases like cancer, by reprogramming their own immune cells to fight disease. To bring these treatments to many more people, they need to be manufactured reliably, at scale, and in real GMP environments. That only works if the right automation equipment is in the right place, at the right time, and under control. That is where you come in.
At Cellular Origins, a TTP company, we are building Constellation®, a first-of-its-kind robotic automation platform for cell and gene therapy manufacturing. It connects existing bioprocess tools into a scalable, reliable and cost-effective manufacturing system. As Equipment Supply Chain Lead, you will build the supply engine that makes this platform deployable, repeatable and ready for commercial scale in customer facilities.
Job Description
What you’ll do
You will be the go-to person for the equipment that underpins Constellation® deployments.
You’ll get to:
• Turn customer deployment plans into robust, realistic equipment supply plans.
• Own and maintain the equipment bill of materials (BOM) and configuration for Constellation® deployments.
• Classify and manage risk across the equipment BOM, including critical components and long-lead items.
• Identify and qualify backup suppliers for critical equipment and components, reducing single points of failure.
• Ensure every customer deployment has a controlled, traceable and well-documented equipment configuration.
• Help shape how we standardise platform configurations while still meeting customer and process needs.
• Contribute to how we manage obsolescence, supplier changes and equipment lifecycle within a Quality Management System.
• Integrate supplier quality into our processes in partnership with Quality, including change control and deviations.
• Work with Legal and our Supply Chain Contracts Lead on key equipment and strategic supplier agreements, helping ensure commercial terms reflect equipment criticality, lead times and supply risk.
You will be joining during a build phase, so your work will directly influence how our supply chain functions and how smoothly our platforms land in customer facilities.
Qualifications
About you
You will enjoy this role if you like owning complex hardware categories, working side by side with engineers, and building processes that balance control with pace.
You will bring:
• Strong experience in equipment or hardware supply chain, category management or technical procurement, ideally in automation, robotics, capital equipment or similar.
• Proven ability to work with engineering documentation such as BOMs, drawings and specifications, and translate these into clear supplier requirements.
• Experience managing supply risk for critical components, including dual sourcing, criticality assessment and mitigation planning.
• Confidence collaborating across Design, NPI, Procurement, Quality, Manufacturing and Field Operations. • Experience working within or alongside a Quality Management System, including change control, deviations and supplier qualification.
• Enjoyment of operating in a build-phase environment, being hands-on, pragmatic and keen to improve processes over time.
• Comfort working at pace in a fast-evolving environment, while maintaining appropriate control and traceability.
• Willingness to work with, or learn to work with, legal contracts and supplier agreements.
If you like the idea of your supply chain decisions directly influencing how cell therapies can be manufactured at industrial scale, this role gives you the chance to see that impact clearly.
