Job Description
Lead and oversee full-lifecycle process design and engineering for FPSO topside core systems, including production separation, crude processing, gas compression, flare & vent, and utility systems throughout the entire EPC phase.
Develop, validate and approve key process EPC deliverables, including Process Design Basis (PDB), Heat & Mass Balance, PFDs, P&IDs, equipment datasheets, process simulation reports, design narratives, operating procedures and project technical documents.
Conduct professional process simulation, equipment sizing, hydraulic calculation and system optimization via Aspen HYSYS; identify and resolve process bottlenecks, design conflicts and operability risks to ensure stable, safe and efficient operation of FPSO process systems.
Lead and facilitate core process safety activities including HAZID, HAZOP, SIL review and risk assessment; formulate and implement targeted mitigation measures to comply with global offshore HSE and process safety requirements.
Manage cross-discipline technical coordination with mechanical, piping, electrical, instrumentation, hull, turret and structural teams, unify design standards, resolve interface issues, and promote smooth EPC project progression.
Review vendor technical proposals, equipment packages and bidding documents, conduct professional technical evaluation, verify equipment applicability, and provide optimization recommendations for EPC procurement and construction implementation.
Provide full-process technical support for onshore fabrication, offshore construction and site commissioning; troubleshoot technical defects and process anomalies during EPC execution to guarantee project delivery quality.
Maintain consistent communication and technical alignment with clients, prepare regular technical progress reports, and ensure all process engineering works fully comply with API, DNV, ABS and other mainstream offshore industry standards.
Manage and mentor junior process engineers, standardize EPC process design workflows and quality control systems, and ensure efficient, high-quality delivery of all discipline tasks.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or above in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Petroleum Engineering or other oil & gas related disciplines.
Minimum 10 years of offshore oil and gas process engineering experience, with mandatory solid FPSO topside EPC project lead experience.
Proven hands-on experience in FPSO EPC projects, proficient in FEED design, detailed engineering and commissioning delivery, with a thorough understanding of full-set FPSO topside process design logic and EPC execution procedures.
Highly proficient in Aspen HYSYS simulation software, skilled in process calculation, equipment sizing, system optimization and debottlenecking for offshore process systems.
In-depth and systematic knowledge of international offshore industry codes and standards, including API, DNV, ABS, and relevant process safety and design specifications.
Familiar with full-process safety management of FPSO EPC projects, proficient in organizing and conducting HAZOP, SIL assessment and other safety review activities.
Excellent cross-team coordination, client communication and on-site technical problem-solving capabilities, able to independently lead discipline work and control project technical risks.
Fluent English in oral and written, capable of independent technical communication and document delivery for international EPC projects.
