Job Description

TOPdesk is looking for an experienced Assistant Controller to support the execution of global accounting operations with a focus on general ledger integrity, global close governance, audit readiness, and reporting excellence. This role will partner closely with the VP, Global Controller, and will play a critical part in building a globally harmonized, well-controlled, and scalable finance function that supports both strategic growth and operational precision.

What are you going to do as an Assistant Controller?

Reporting & Compliance

  • Oversee internal and external reporting, including preparation of lender reporting packages and coordination with FP&A.
  • Support the preparation and delivery of audited financial statements and compliance documentation.
  • Support with internal monthly and quarterly closing.
  • Assist in consolidating financial results.
  • Support external audit process, including coordination of PBC documentation.
  • Partner with international teams for statutory audit coordination and local financial / tax filings.

Policy, Process & Controls

  • Drive development of global accounting policies and procedures.
  • Promote standardization and automation across core accounting processes.
  • Partner cross-functionally to ensure end-to-end financial integrity.

Systems & Technology Enablement

  • Identify and implement best practices to streamline accounting operations and reporting
  • Assist with the implementation and optimization of Netsuite ERP and other financial systems
  • Drive automation in areas such as consolidations, reporting, and intercompany transactions

Global Coordination & Leadership

  • Contribute to transformation initiatives, including entity rationalization and shared services.

Qualifications

Are you our new Assistant controller?

  • Chartered Accoutant required; Big 4 or national firm audit experience preferred
  • 5-10 years of progressive accounting experience in a global, PE-backed company
  • Deep understanding of Dutch GAAP / IFRS, consolidation, and financial reporting standards
  • Strong NetSuite experience and comfort with modern financial systems
  • Demonstrated success leading global close and internal control programs
  • Strong communicator, collaborator, and operator across time zones and cultures
  • Fluency in English, both spoken and written, is required.
