Business Development & Commercial Manager – Water Treatment

The Role

Partnering with the Chief Commercial Officer, the Business Development Manager will help to shape and develop the business development infrastructure by identifying, evaluating and reaching the market for the product/service; conducting market studies, networking and engaging with potential new partners and clients.This role offers you the opportunity to be involved in high-level strategic decisions alongside traditional, hands-on sales responsibilities:

·Set-up and oversee our business development infrastructure.

·Manage the end to end commercial process: from opportunity engagement and assessment to internal/external technical stakeholder management, value proposition and close.

·Perform market and client research based on value, growth rate, geographical relevance and existing competitive technologies.

·Shape and develop a clear sales strategy.

·Collaborate with the technical teams on new business proposals.

·Asses, prioritize and strategize new business opportunities - potential deal size, organisation structure, decision makers and budget holders.

·Generate a healthy sales pipeline in line with revenue targets.

·Attend conferences, trade shows and professional workshops that can have a direct impact on the company’s revenue and brand growth in relevant markets.

The Candidate

Qualifications and experience will include:

·BSc/MSc in an engineering and/or a closely related science discipline

·Significant experience in a business development role within a technical (chemical or materials science) company

·Experience selling an innovative new technological solution (bonus points if you have done this for a company undergoing commercialization and scale up)

·Sales/Business Development experience in the environmental/water/wastewater sector with an understanding of engineering technologies/solutions

·Experience in developing pricing strategies

·A track record of achieving or over-achieving against new business targets and sales KPIs

The BDM will be based in the London office and travel locally and internationally as required.
