Job Description
We are seeking a Supervisor - Quality Control (Food & Beverage Manufacturing) at our Keefe Packaging Plant. This is a full-time opportunity on our 1st shift (8a.m.-5p.m.. Monday through Friday).
GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
The primary purpose of the position is to manage the quality control and plant sanitation activities. This position will also support the quality systems including (but not limited to) procedure writing, verification and validation, audit preparation and document control and review.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•General support to the Quality Assurance Manager regarding plant quality systems and procedures
•Supervise 1st and 2nd shift Quality Technicians
•Supervise the plant sanitation activities and MSS
•Assist in the plant pathogen monitoring programs
•Conduct plant GMP and food safety audits
•Support Hold and Release program
•Support plant regarding GFSI and other required audit schemes
•Be readily available to help resolve quality issues that may arise
•Create Standard Operating Procedures and Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures as required
•Assist in test runs and sample preparation as needed
•Review and audit sanitation and quality paperwork, address concerns as they arise
•Perform other duties as assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This job does have supervisory responsibility including five direct reports from sanitation and quality control.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of GFSI audit schemes
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
•Bachelor’s degree in food science, technology or other related field, or
3 + years related experience and /or training
•Basic understanding of SPC (weight program)
•Strong knowledge of the following, HACCP, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and Good Sanitation Practices
•Experience with GFSI audit schemes
•Strong problem solving abilities
•Strong organizational skills
•Food Packaging experience
•Strong oral and written communication skills
•Ability to work with minimal supervision
•Ability to prioritize tasks
•Ability to follow-up
•Strong quantitative and analytical skills
•PC proficient on Windows based software including Excel and Word
•Good mechanical aptitude
