THET are currently looking for two Communications volunteers to support our small, friendly Communications team.
The volunteers will be working under the supervision of the Communications Manager to plan THET’s Annual Conference, which will take place on October 23rd – 25th at Resource for London.
This is a great opportunity for two dynamic candidates to develop their skills across different stages of event organisation, from planning to delivery, and to give their unique contribution to one of the most exciting events within the global health sector, THET Annual Conference 2017.
- Hours: 2 or 3 days a week
- Location: Royal Society of Medicine, 1 Wimpole St, Marylebone, London W1G 0AE
Expenses: This is an unpaid volunteer role. Travel and lunch expenses will be reimbursed up to the amount of £15 per day. THET’s volunteers have access to the Royal Society of Medicine canteen (£1.50 per meal) - Responsible to: Communications Manager
- Duration: 8 months, starting date: ASAP.
OBJECTIVES
- Liaise with conference speakers;
- Liaise with stall holders and event sponsors;
- Assist in managing supplier relationships;
- Support the Communications Team to organise the production of posters, catalogues and sales brochures, plus social media coverage;
- Contribute to the post-event evaluation, including thank you letters, data entry and analysis and producing
reports for event stakeholders.
We are keen to recruit ASAP and will be accepting applications until 12 midnight on 22nd March 2017.
Qualifications
Skills and competencies:
Essential :
- You will have a degree or will be studying towards a degree in Events Management or another relevant discipline;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Highly proficient in spoken and written English;
- Excellent organisational skills;
- Strong research skills;
- Able to work on own initiative and as part of a small team;
- Ability to prioritise workload and manage your own time.
Desirable:
- Experience with Survey Monkey.
- Excellent editing skills (photo/video/text/info-graphic). Working knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, and
InDesign.
Additional Information
- Travel and Lunch expenses will be Reimburses by THET up to a limit of £15 per day;
- Access to RSM canteen (so long as THET remains a tenant of RSM) £1.50 for a main meal.
