Who the specialist will work with The Project Delivery Team

What the specialist will work on The development of a solution for ministerial correspondence within DCMS. Identifying and researching user needs. Benchmarking these needs, producing user stories with clear acceptance criteria in a comprehensive report

Working arrangements Based in 100 Parliament street, London. The User Researcher / Supplier will be responsible for all expenses incurred

Qualifications

Skills and experience

Essential skills and experience 

  • In-depth understanding of user-centered design principles and tools
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Experience working directly with Design, Software, Content and Product team members
  • Experience in IT, knowledge of Google Services framework.
  • Have a mix of hands on experience and/or degree in the relevant field. I.e. Degrees in Human Computer Interaction (HCI), Psychology, design research or similar.
  • Full understanding and demonstrable experience in User Centred Design (UCD) product development.
  • Full understanding and demonstrable experience of research methodologies. Qualitative: RITE, usability testing, and contextual enquiry. Quantitative: usability metrics
  • Full understanding and demonstrable experience in indirect data collection techniques such as web traffic analytics.
  • Experience in delivering insights in a scrum team of cross-disciplinary team members using Lean UX techniques.
  • Ability to work with users and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience in mentoring and coaching those new to user research/user experience.

Nice-to-have skills and experience 

  • Degree in HCI/Usability/Cognitive Psychology or related field
  • 1 years experience of user research within Government
  • 5 years experience as a user researcher
