Job Description
Responsibilities
- The role will include both Deployment team and local support work.
- The local support role will be PC field support, supporting existing Windows XP fleet of desktops and laptop, including printer and some network support duties.
- The Deployment team role is a floor walking role providing post migration support to Win7 users. Experience of supporting WinXP to Win7 users preferred.
- Both areas of work are very mobile and travel to regional offices will be required. Candidate must have own car (travel expenses paid).
- They will be required to stop away from their base location (Overnight stops).
Key Requirements required for the role
- Field Support experience (mobile Engineer)
- Technical PC Support experience
- Excellent Win XP and Win 7 knowledge
- Previous experience deploying Windows 7
- Experience supporting Windows XP to Windows 7 migrated users
- Microsoft Office and other common application knowledge
- Full UK driving licence and own vehicle
Desirable skills/experience/requirements
- Applicants home address postcode must be within an agreed limit of miles from the base office which the field force TL will assign them to and that you suggest viable for a commute (e.g. 20 miles each way), regardless of whether the recruitment consultant suggests they are within a fast commute, because I guess they will offer you as many engineers from their pool as they can, as essentially they are salesmen
- Works well in a team environment and able to work with all personalities
- Has at least 3+ years field force experience in a similar environment
- Extensive floor walking experience in an environment where systems have been upgraded / replaced on a mass scale roll-out
