Job Title: Field Technician II

Location: Quebec City,QC G2C 0M2

Duration: 3 Months  

Job Type: Temporary Assignment   

Work Type: Onsite/Driving

Bilingual: French & English

 

Job Description:

  • As a Field Technician II, you will be responsible for supporting and maintaining laptop, desktop and printer support for end users and clients. A valid passport and drivers’ license and vehicle are required. This role reports into the Field Services Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintains, analyzes, troubleshoots, and repairs computer systems, hardware and computer peripherals

  • Documents, maintains, upgrades or replaces hardware and software systems

  • Supports and maintains user account information including rights, security and systems groups.

  • Identifies, analyzes, and repairs product failures, orders and replaces parts as needed

  •  Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

  •  Performs a variety of complicated tasks

  •  Works under general supervision. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required

Basic tasks:

  • Deskside software support

  • High end printer and multi-function laser component level repair

  • Server component level hardware repair and software restore

  • Network device replacement/ configuration

  • Basic network troubleshooting

  • Smart Hands

Qualifications:

  • Requires experience in the field or in a related area; familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures

  • Able to perform call-management in a Real-Time-Reporting environment

  • Able to work independently & with limited supervision

  • Excellent verbal & written skills

  • Have good interpersonal and communication skills.

Additional Information

Communication will be via Teams and Outlook. Meetings are conducted remotely as this is a face-to-face role. New agents need to get used to using is their feet and their mouth because they're going to be walking around talking to folks face to face. Will need to be able to manage an iPad, manage a checkout system, and manage a like root-based map system. It's not exactly all pen and paper. Someone does need to be able to use a cursory level of technology to succeed in the role. Training will be provided for first week.
