Job Description
POSITION OVERVIEW
As the Event Registration & Customer Support Associate, you’ll be a key member of TED’s Events department, providing a seamless experience for conference and NYC TED World Theater event attendees. As part of the Audience Relations team, you’re part of the brain that helps facilitate seamless attendee registration and provides analysis on attendance analytics. You’re a customer-focused and detail-oriented individual with a proactive approach who assists attendees with event registration, expertly handles all customer questions via email and phone, compiles audience analytics, and supports attendees on-site at conferences and events. RESPONSIBILITIES
TED Flagship Conferences
- Support the attendee registration process, including troubleshooting, receiving and tracking large payments, creating reports and updating database content.
- Facilitate a smooth registration journey for conference and event attendees through world-class customer service via email and phone, as well as in-person. Escalate any sensitive issues and unusual requests as they arise.
- Lead on-site name badge production and distribution for conferences and events, as well as training and overseeing badge production staff.
- Assist with attendee and support staff check-in for in-person conferences.
NYC TED World Theater Events
- Lead registration for NYC TED World Theater events and manage attendee check-in on-site.
- Work closely with Events team stakeholders in New York City to execute NYC TED World Theater events and provide general support (ex. planning, set up, tear down, etc.).
Administrative
- Compile and/or update various attendee analytic reports for leadership utilizing TED’s CRM(s), Google Sheets, and Excel.
- Update and reconcile the budget for name badges and supplies.
- ● Manage supply inventory across multiple locations and coordinate shipping as needed.
- ● Work closely with other departments (for example: Brand Creative, Partnerships and TED Initiatives) to produce relevant event materials and collaborate on guest registrations.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of customer support experience, both in-person and online.
- Experience working in live events or similar industry (ex. conferences, theater, media, etc).
- Experience using CRMs to effectively manage customer data, communications, and customer support.
- Extensive knowledge of Google applications / Microsoft suite (especially Excel / Sheets).
- Personable and collaborative, able to clearly communicate complex information both verbally and in writing.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Adaptable, ability to pivot and prioritize tasks based on urgency.
- Ability to problem solve quickly/efficiently, thrives under pressure.
- Able to perform repetitive tasks with consistency and accuracy.
- Tech-savvy, fast learner of new tools.
- Must be able to commute to the NYC office for meetings and events, as well as, travel internationally as needed.
- Degree (preferred) or diploma in hospitality, administration, communications or similar discipline; or similar experience.

Additional Information
SALARY RANGE: $60,000 - $70,000.
