Company Description

TED is hiring an Accounts Payable Specialist to support its growing operations.  The successful candidate will report to the Director of Finance with the primary responsibility of managing an accounts payable system.

The Accounts Payable Specialist will accurately record transactions for TED in its accounting system.  They will help track expenses through multiple dimensions (GL accounts, programs, events).  They will assist the Director of Finance/CFO in implementing and maintaining sound accounting internal control systems and workflows.

Responsibilities:

Accounts payable:

  • Process invoices into AP platform (Bill.com) which syncs with TED’s accounting system
  • Enter invoices with accurate coding’s for programs and events with proper approvals
  • Record expense/direct debit bank transactions in TED’s accounting system.
  • Owning accounting email inbox to process invoices or respond to questions
  • Lead weekly AP review meetings with CFO/Director of Finance
  • Prepare and process 1099’s for vendors
  • Reconcile monthly bank statements
  • Proactive problem solving by taking the lead on solutions to resolve issues
  • Enter and process wire payments to international vendors
  • Provides professional, timely, and accurate responses to issues, questions, requests, etc. from management team, vendors and coworkers.
  • Ad hoc work and reports as necessary

Qualifications

Skill and knowledge requirements:

  • BA/BS required.  Accounting degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of accounting and/or accounts payable experience
  • Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Works effectively in a team environment through collaboration and partnership.
  • Customer service oriented with an aspiration to succeed with the client in mind
  • Ability to analyze and problem solve effectively by offering solutions to resolve issues
  • Ability to write friendly and accurate correspondence.
  • Experience with Intacct accounting system desired, but not required
  • Experience with Bill.com payables system desired, but not required
  • Experience with Nexonia/other expense reporting platforms desired, but not required
  • Thorough knowledge of Excel (sumif, vlookup, ifthen, and other formula’s) and Word
  • Industry experience in online media, event production or nonprofit would be helpful.
  • Self-starter, proactive approach

Additional Information

Salary range: 70,000 - 75,000
