Job Description

The Graphic Designer will work across the TED Partnerships and TED@Work teams, primarily providing communication design support, to ensure we deliver the best experiences possible across a wide range of platforms for our partners, from our annual conferences, custom events and content, global distribution efforts, learning and development work, and more. This position will report to the Associate Design Director.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conceptualize, design, produce and edit visually compelling decks and other creative assets
  • Work with team members to come up with proactive design solutions that support the teams’ needs across pre-and-post-sale executions
  • Extend identities and brand systems for custom events, initiatives, and digital marketing applications
  • Present design work and concepts with clarity to other teams
  • Understand how to both receive feedback and provide constructive feedback to other team members

Qualifications

You should be a highly conceptual visual thinker and detailed in the execution of ideas, from cradle to completion. You’re someone who knows how to create beautiful, thoughtful work and can communicate your design decisions clearly. Above all else, you understand the importance of community, and are ready to help support your fellow team members.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • 2-5 years of graphic design experience
  • Expert fluency in common design tools and applications, especially Adobe Creative Cloud, Keynote, and Google Slides
  • Strong time management and organizational skills, including keeping files tidy at every stage of the project
  • Flexibility to jump from project to project, with varying lead times and stakeholders
  • Highly conceptual visual thinking and ability to execute ideas quickly
  • Desire to be a team player — no task is too big or too small
  • A deeply curious mind, with a love for TED Talks and digital storytelling

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • Working knowledge of HTML and CSS; familiarity with WordPress
  • Animation and/or motion graphics
  • Data analytics and visualization; familiarity with Mixpanel
  • Marketing and/or sales team experience
  • Familiarity with print processes and production

Additional Information

This is a temporary benefit-eligible position requiring 30 hours/week for one year. Benefits and payroll for this job will be managed by third-party agency, TCWglobal.

Salary Range: USD $50,000-54,000
