Job Description

Summary:  Sort and tear down material from incoming shipments to determine final disposition. This position is located near the airport in Portland, OR. It pays $14.75 per hour and is a 40-hour work week with a day shift. It is accessible by transit.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Although this may be your primary duty or function, you are expected to be cross-trained in other areas of the business and assist in those areas on an as-needed basis.

  • Weigh and QC material
    • Weigh all sorted material
      •  Record on weight  sheet in appropriate category
    • Record on material control form in appropriate area
    • Complete weight station tracking form
    • Ensure all asset tags are removed
    • Ensure that no material that is dispositioned for destruction goes to a sales       department
    • Ensure that any material going to a sales department meets the physical requirements       set forth for re-sell
    • Ensure that all material is separated correctly prior to going to the dumping area
    • Report consistent errors to Operations Manager
    • Meet daily quotas
  • Report inconsistent errors to Teardown clerk for correction
