Job Description

Hensoldt Inc. is seeking a creative and motivated Engineer who enjoys solving challenging problems in a dynamic and growing team environment.  You will play a critical and influential role in delivering a broad range of industry-leading radar, electro-optics, and vehicle self-protection technologies to U.S. customers. 

Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the successful candidate will have a strong background in the development, optimization, integration and testing of complex sensor systems preferably for military applications.  The candidate must have demonstrated engineering skills in hardware and software design and integration, systems engineering methodologies, and developing system architectures. Collaboration and innovation are important skills as you’ll work in a diverse, international team to deliver solutions for our customers.  You are a key role in tailoring technologies to meet the needs of our customers. You will work closely with the Director of Engineering to develop technical roadmaps for our growing engineering capabilities in the U.S.  You will interface directly with senior business development teams to craft technical solutions and work alongside engineering teams to integrate and deliver those solutions.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Build engineering project plans to effectively lead cross-functional teams in project execution
  • Coordinate and oversee engineering aspects of system integration and production efforts
  • Develop and specify operational, functional, and design requirements to meet customer needs
  • Plan and conduct system design reviews
  • Design and develop technical solutions for highly competitive customer focused proposals and request for information (RFI) efforts
  • Collaborate with business development team to generate focused customer solutions and align efforts with overall technology roadmaps
  • May represent the company at planning meetings.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelors’ Degree in Engineering, Applied Science or related discipline and at least 5 years’ of relevant experience or equivalent years’ experience/education
  • Demonstrated experience in the development, optimization, integration, and testing of complex sensor systems
  • Demonstrated experience in systems engineering methodologies and developing system architectures
  • Demonstrated experience developing hardware, software, and interface requirements tailored to customer and operational needs
  • Experience developing system engineering management plans, test and evaluation plans, and associated reports
  • Knowledge of hardware and software configuration management methodologies and processes for controlling design changes
  • Ability to provide technical briefings and technology demonstrations to customers
  • Demonstrated experience in technical proposal development
  • Strong communication skills both oral and written, and ability to influence
  • Ability to obtain/maintain US security clearance at the Secret Level
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel, Project etc.
  • Strong leadership, self-initiative, and proven ability to work with BD and ELT
  • Demonstrated problem identification, analytic/ problem solving skills, flexibility, etc.
  • Excellent organizational and customer service skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, ever changing exciting work environment

Desired Qualifications

  • Familiar with Import/Export, ITAR/EAR regulations
  • Experience planning and conducting system design reviews
  • Experience initiating, coordinating, and overseeing system integration/production activities
  • Experience in one or more of the following domains:
    • Radar system design, integration, and testing
    • RF signal processing
    • Electro-Optical/Infrared sensors
    • Laser-based optical systems
  • Familiar with Import/Export, ITAR/EAR regulations
  • Experience in working with international businesses
