TBC Capital’s team is seeking for a team member to join as a Senior Back-Office Manager.

Job Description

  • Monitor daily back-office operations, including reconciliation between back office, custodian accounts and accounting records, corporate actions and transfer agency duties;
  • Monitoring of daily process audit, data validation and control sign off;
  • Enhance or create process documentation and training guides;
  • Identify and address processes gaps;
  • Promote best practices, share industry expertise, and mentor team members;
  • Work on to update policies and procedures to conduct the operations smoothly and keep documents current;
  • Manage and file records in compliance with our record keeping policy;
  • Monitor the trading / back office systems and data transmissions to ensure successful relay of trade details to appropriate systems as well as brokers and custodians;
  • Ensure all settlement instructions / broker details are properly updated in the appropriate systems;
  • Provide leadership, mentorship and supervision to junior members of the team;
  • Communicate with back office and front office system vendors, work on feature improvements to ensure the daily operations are fully supported with automation;
  • Make sure all regulatory or internal reporting is completed and provided to the stakeholders in a timely manner;
  • Make sure that all recordings in back-office system are up-to-date and verified against custodian recordings.

Qualifications

  • Prior financial services experience (min. 2-3 year) highly desirable: bank (treasury), brokerage operations, trade settlements, or other;
  • Prior experience on a managerial position is desirable
  • University degree in Commerce, Business Information Systems or similar is preferred;
  • Demonstrated competency with common technology and technical concepts;
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills;
  • Accuracy, attention to detail, and solutions orientated;
  • Effective time management and ability prioritize tasks;
  • A deep belief in team success, collaboration, and a willingness to adapt to continuous change;
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced and evolving environment which includes ongoing learning and training opportunities;
  • Proven business acumen and ability to communicate the corporate vision and align department initiatives.
