Talent2Africa is looking for a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) on behalf of its partner, a company operating in the payment industry, based in Tanzania.
Job Description
Objectives to be achieved:
- Ensure the efficient management and security of information technology infrastructure of the company.
- Lead the digital transformation of the enterprise by aligning with the global company strategy.
Main Mission:
- Define and set in place the strategy for information technology in the company.
Main responsibilities
- Lead the technical division by elaborating visionary strategies for the scalability and reliability of the core company tech services.
- Lead the enterprise expansion across several accessible geographies.
- Overview and organize the planning, development and release of system features while guaranteeing their reliability, security and efficiency.
- Identify and assess new and modern tech approaches to improve the productivity of developers or service delivery.
- Recruit, train and transfer special experiences to the team in order to ensure a load balanced resource allocation.
- Guarantee systems security and data in keeping with the internal and external norms on the governance of IT systems.
- Collaborate closely with every other department to align with set objectives and strategic vision for the company.
- Supervise, plan and execute projects within the organization according to reestablished delivery dates and in keeping with the standards in terms of quality.
- Ensure resource efficiency by optimizing various technology and human resources
Qualifications
Prerequisites of the Position
- At least a Bachelors Degree (4 years) in Computer Engineering.
- At least 6 years of experience in programming, systems design and databases.
- Good knowledge of modern design patterns for efficient programming.
- Multi-stack proficiency across different modern tech tools (MEAN, MERN, ).
- Previous experience as CTO of a decent local startup.
- Experience in managing information technology infrastructures.
- Experience in building fintech services.
- Experience in managing medium sized teams (5+ developers).
- Use of English as the primary language of communication.
