Talent2Africa is seeking for its partner, AfriCatalyst, an independent global development consulting firm dedicated to promoting evidence-based solutions to address development challenges in Africa, a CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER POSITION based in Senegal.
Job Description
AfriCatalyst is looking for an experienced Chief Operating Officer (COO) to oversee its
ongoing operations and procedures. The COO will act as AfriCatalyst’s second-in-command
and will be a key member of the senior management team, reporting only to the Chief
Executive Officer (CEO). He/she is expected to be an experienced and efficient leader who
will help the CEO to oversee and manage AfriCatalyst’s various operations and projects and drive sustainable business growth.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement business strategies, plans and procedures
- Set comprehensive goals for performance and growth
- Establish policies that promote company culture and vision
- Oversee daily operations of the company and the work of executives (IT, Marketing,
- Communication, Finance etc.)
- Contribute to the formulation, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of projects,
- including those involving research, advisory, advocacy, and capacity building
- Participate in business development activities
- Manage relationships with partners and consultants
- Lead employees to encourage maximum performance and dedication
- Evaluate performance by analyzing and interpreting data and metrics
- Write and submit reports to the CEO in all matters of importance
- Execute any other relevant tasks at the request of the CEO.
Qualifications
Profile Sought:
- MBA or MSc in economics, international finance, or relevant field
- Fluency in English and French
- Minimum 10 years of experience as Chief Operating Officer or relevant role.
Requirements and skills:
- Proven experience as Chief Operating Officer or relevant role
- Understanding of business functions such as HR, communication, finance etc.
- Demonstrable competency in strategic planning and business development
- Experience in advisory, research and advocacy will be a plus
- Working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operation metrics
- Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities
- Excellent interpersonal and public speaking skills
- Aptitude in decision-making and problem-solving.
