Job Description
This role is about leading with purpose at a time that matters most. As a people leader at the heart of TAL’s claims experience, you’ll set the standard for how care, integrity and accountability show up for customers and teams alike. By inspiring capability, confidence and sound judgement across your team, you’ll help bring TAL’s claims philosophy to life—balancing empathy with trust, and leadership with responsibility. The impact is real and lasting: empowering people to do their best work while helping Australians move forward through life’s most challenging moments.
In this role you will:
- Lead a high‑performing claims team that delivers fair, timely and compassionate outcomes for customers when it matters most.
- Champion a market‑leading claims experience by balancing customer care, sound judgement and regulatory integrity.
- Embed a strong risk and compliance culture that protects customers, TAL and long‑term trust in our brand.
- Build team capability and confidence through coaching, performance leadership and purposeful development.
- Resolve complex and escalated matters with empathy, accountability and alignment to TAL’s claims philosophy.
- Drive continuous improvement by shaping better ways of working that strengthen quality, consistency and customer outcomes.
Qualifications
- Brings strong experience in life insurance claims, with the judgement to deliver fair, high‑quality outcomes.
- Leads people with confidence and care, developing capability while fostering accountability and trust.
- Applies sound understanding of claims practices, regulation and industry standards to everyday decisions.
- Communicates clearly and thoughtfully, even in complex or sensitive situations.
- Navigates pressure and competing priorities with resilience, empathy and focus.
- Solves problems pragmatically, balancing customer needs, risk awareness and commercial outcomes.
