Job Description
As a Technology Portfolio Lead at TAL, you’ll play a key role in shaping how our Technology function operates. Sitting within the Strategy and Planning team, you’ll optimise processes, manage offshoring opportunities, and lead reporting across our Tech portfolio. Partnering with a Commercial Management Analyst, you’ll oversee cost centre performance, tracking budgets, forecasts, and key financial metrics. Collaboration is at the heart of this role — you’ll work closely with stakeholders across Technology to drive efficiency, support strategic initiatives, and help deliver operational excellence that keeps TAL moving forward.
You will:
- Drive process and system improvements to streamline month-end, enhance efficiency, and support the transition of suitable processes to offshore teams.
- Oversee Technology financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and month-end reporting to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Lead and support a Reporting Analyst, fostering collaboration, development, and high-quality output.
- Manage procurement, contracts, and platform resource planning in partnership with key stakeholders across Technology.
- Champion TAL’s Spirit behaviours, promoting teamwork, continuous improvement, and operational excellence across the Technology function.
Qualifications
- Required: Tertiary qualifications and experience in Financial, Insurance, or Life Insurance industries.
- Proficiency in budgeting, forecasting and financial modelling.
- Analytical and logical problem-solving skills required
- Highly developed collaboration skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience managing procurement and contract processes.
- Strong organizational, project, and time management skills.
- High proficiency in Peoplesoft and Excel or analytical software to support Tech reporting needs.
- Ability to lead and motivate team members (both direct and indirect).
