Job Description
The primary responsibility of this role is to support TAL’s operational and sales teams by ensuring they have access to accurate, well-articulated, and timely information. This includes performing calculations, analyses of premium rates and other actuarial computations, and then providing clear explanations of technical outcomes. Additionally, the role involves reviewing requests for policy discounts, directly impacting TAL’s commercial outcomes.

- Performing manual quotes and other ad-hoc actuarial calculations.
- Proactively contributing to the development of quotation tools and improving process efficiency.
- Building strong relationships with our key stakeholders.
- Supporting the Pricing team with any business initiatives as they arise. This may include: coding work in excel, R, Python, Prophet; preparing reports/presentation; performing analysis using large data sets to understand competitiveness and profitability to formulate and implement pricing strategies.
Qualifications
- Penultimate or final year in actuarial, mathematics/statistics, computer science looking to build a career in actuarial and/or life insurance.
- Interest in the Life Insurance industry and motivated to work in the industry beyond graduation.
- Familiarity with Excel and/or R, Python or has exposure to using AI applications to code and analyse data/build processes.
- Strong communication skills particularly translating highly technical explanations in simple terms.
- Desire to challenge the status quo and implement more effective methods.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a range of different stakeholder and manage time effectively under pressure.
