Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Full Stack Developer to join our high performance team in Technology Delivery and be part of the transformational journey towards Continuous Delivery and an improved customer experience. This role is responsible for the development and maintenance of Group Life Insurance applications and other tools/applications. The person filling this position is expected to work smoothly with others across various teams. They are required to analyze and translate business requirements into high quality working technical solutions whilst contributing to the culture of continuous innovation within the team. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop reliable, usable, high-quality software which meets business requirements within the required timeframes and minimizes technical debt
  • Analyse and develop efficient, effective and highly available solutions
  • Provide Level 3 support for the software that the team
  • Analysis and work with various other teams members to evolve requirements for production updates
  • Work closely with L2 teams when needed to troubleshoot production support issues
  • Script and execute automated tests as required
  • Ensure essential documentation of technical assets are kept up-to-date
  • Resolve issues and risks within your immediate control and escalate when necessary
  • Support senior team members to optimize the team’s operations
  • Contribute to the strong culture of high quality, continuous improvement and innovation by following existing standards, helping to identify improvements to standards as required and sharing ideas and experience
  • Contribute to the long-term maturity and future-proofing of the Group Life applications

Qualifications and Experience

Essential:

  • IT or a related field qualification
  • 2+years as a software developer
  • 1+ years with .Net technologies
  • Hands on experience with Angular frameworks, SQL servers, services, front-end builds and components
  • Solid understanding of middleware technologies
  • Experience with Test Driven Development practices
  • Knowledge of Agile environment

Desirable:

  • Tertiary qualifications
  • Financial Services/Insurance industry background
  • Life insurance experience
  • Microservices and Sitecore knowledge
  • Experience working with Jira and Confluence
  • Understanding of Behavior Driven development practices
