Job Description
Please note this is a 12 month Fixed term contract.
A new role has opened for a Business Data Analyst – Finance in the team to work collaboratively with programmers, engineers, and business SME’s to identify process improvement opportunities, recommend system changes, and develop data governance policies as it relates to the modernisation of existing processes in the Finance Team. The role plays a crucial role in bridging the gap between business needs and technology solutions. In addition, the role is to support the identification of business challenges and opportunities for improvement and optimisation, as it relates to data consumed and produced by the Finance teams.
Key Accountabilities:
- Take the lead role in documenting the business’ requirements for key data acquisition and transformation processes in Finance
- Support the business on projects to enhance the data capabilities of the Finance team
- Report and present back to the business on key findings and insights
- Look into creative solutions to data quality management and control
- Maintain a balanced approach to risk and the application of risk management principles to all phases of design and implementation for project deliverables
- Develop and maintain excellent communications with team members, customers and stakeholders
Qualifications
- 5+ years of work experience in business analyst or similar role, ideally within Life Insurance
- A Tertiary qualification in a related field
- Proficiency in business intelligence tools including SQL, data analysis and visualisation tools
- Experience in process modelling and workflow analysis
- Experience in composing data dictionaries, data flow diagrams, data analysis, reconciliations
- Experience in system migrations and/or integrations
- Basic understanding of programming languages
- Excellent analytical, problem solving, and documentation skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail
