Job Description
The Reporting analyst plays an integral part in executing the BI starategy and support of ongoing BAU reports and also development on new BI reporting requirements to the business. the role will also be supporting the business by working on any adhoc requests that arise from the buisiness. The role requires a strong understand of capturing business requirements, transalating them and delivering outcomes in the form of BI reporting solutions and pieces of analytics. The role is to act as a conduit between the business and technology leveraging the capabilities of Enterprise BI technoilogiues to drive insightful commercial decisions.
The role requires adoption of industry best practices and adherences to standard and governance in the delivery of BI solutions design and implementation.
In this role you will:
- Work on adhoc requests within agreed SLA's.
- Work closely with end users to understand business needs and requirements to ensure that a reporting solution can be developed to address business requirements.
- Be accountable to daily reporting SLA's ensuring that reports and delivered to stakeholders within agreed delivery time frames.
- Facilitate workshops to capture business requirements pertaining to information needs to support business decision making.
- Manage the activities to ensure engagement and delivery to stakeholders.
- Work closely with TAL Continuous delivery team to ensure reporting solutions are built in line with CD team.
- Assist in articulating BI solutions requirements and being the conduit between IT and business users.
- Develop the BI reporting solutions by using enterprise BI technology. develop SSIS/SSAS/PBI models to ensure information in the reports meet the business requirements.
- Provide solution designs or proof of concepts (POC) using appropriate tools in sync with the solution architects.
Qualifications
- Working knowledge of SQL (TSQL), Tableau, PowerBI.
- Knowledge of data modelling PBI, tabular data models in SSAS distinct advantage.
- Understanding of ETL/ ELT processes.
- Analytical skills within a large data driven organisation (life insurance preferred).
- Working knowledge of data management and data warehousing, MI/BI (architecture) solutions both technically and from a business perspective.
- Excellent management and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- Minimum 2 years' experience in the BI space.
- Ability to engage with business teams and translate business requirements into technical specifications for sound BI solutions.
- Act as a conduit between IT & business in translating business to technical requirements.
