Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Cybersecurity Specialist to join our organisation in Palmela, Portugal. In this permanent position, you will be responsible for protecting our digital infrastructure and sensitive data from evolving cyber threats. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in developing, implementing, and maintaining robust security measures across our organisation, whilst ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

  • Design, implement, and maintain comprehensive cybersecurity strategies and security frameworks aligned with industry best practices (ISO 27001, NIST, etc.)
  • Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify and address security weaknesses within the organisation's systems and networks • Monitor and analyse security incidents, respond to threats in a timely manner, and conduct thorough post-incident investigations • Manage and configure security tools and technologies, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) platforms • Develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure consistent protection of organisational assets
  • Perform security audits and compliance assessments to verify adherence to regulatory requirements and internal security standards • Collaborate with IT teams and other departments to integrate security best practices into system design and deployment processes • Stay abreast of current cyber threats, attack vectors, and emerging security trends to continuously improve defensive measures • Provide security awareness training and guidance to staff members to foster a strong security culture • Document security incidents, vulnerabilities, and remediation efforts for audit and compliance purposes

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in cybersecurity roles, with demonstrated expertise in threat analysis and incident response • Strong proficiency with security tools and technologies, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and SIEM platforms • Solid understanding of network security, infrastructure protection, and encryption protocols
  • Experience conducting vulnerability assessments and penetration testing • Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and compliance standards (ISO 27001, NIST, PCI-DSS, or equivalent) • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with meticulous attention to detail • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple security initiatives simultaneously • Proficiency in security audit procedures and compliance assessment methodologies • Familiarity with current cyber threats and attack methodologies

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Professional certifications such as CISSP, Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), CompTIA Security+, or equivalent recognised credentials
  • Experience with cloud security platforms and technologies
  • Knowledge of security automation and orchestration tools • Background in application security and secure coding practices
  • Experience with security incident management and forensic analysis
