Job Description

DevOps Engineer Senior

In the EMS Team of DTT, there is a need to continue, expand, and further develop the first automation steps and to adapt them to changing conditions and requirements to increase quality in validation, rollout and operation. This primarily includes the areas of the interface to the supplier, test environments, and active operation.

Tasks:

  •  Develop and implement CI/CD pipelines for our tests and operations in close cooperation with the team
  •  Automation of existing processes / mechanisms, which are not automated by the manufacturer
  •  Create sustainable, maintainable, and modular solutions
  •  Develop and run automated tests
  •  Analysis of test runs and reporting
  •  Participation in administration of environments
  •  Create detailed development documentation

Goals:

  •  Reduce repetitive activities
  •  Increase quality in validation, rollout and operation
  •  Improve software quality through higher test coverage
  •  Do best to avoid manual failures

Qualifications

Skills:

  •  Ability to develop sustainable and very well maintainable design approaches and criteria
  •  Security-by-design - very strong awareness of data protection and security in general and, in the automation environment
  •  Strong experience with Python including object oriented programming
  •  Strong experience with Ansible, Git, Gitlab, Gitlab-CI, Docker and unix based systems
  •  Good Experience with bash scripting
  •  Following knowledge is from advantage: ReadyAPI, Behave, VS Code, json and Jira
  •  Experienced in Agile Methodologies and Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment
  •  Fluent English
  •  Good communication skills with a distributed team (in Germany) using various technical means, but also willingness to communicate personally with team members

Good to have:

  • German (any level + willingness to learn and use)
  • Experience as “fixed access” network engineer, to understand the subject area well
